April 1, 2009

This morning was our monthly breakfast meeting. Dr. Morris was out speaker and although we set aside one hour for our speaker we were all so enthralled with the facts that Dr. Morris was presenting he had the floor for almost two hours. It was agreed by all that he should return to address us again. Those of you that were unable to attend this morning please watch for Dr. Morris next visit.

A huge thank you goes out to Peter Crawford Smith for organizing the speakers for our breakfast meetings. So far our speakers have been:

Dr. Carlton Mills
Jay Saunders from Digicel
Walter Gardiner
Joe Zahm
Dr. Morris

All of these people have generously shared information with TCREA members that will help us with our
businesses.

Peter has not announced who our May speaker will be but I am sure we can look forward to another champion.

Peter’s goal when he started organizing speakers late last year was to present to you all propele that would inform and educate you on “Building you Business”. Thus far he has achieved that goal. I encourage you to let Peter know if you have learned from the speakers (we want him to keep up the good work.” If you have suggestions please pass them along as well.

We will have one more speakers in May and then there will be a break for a ocuple of months.

Traditionally the end of April is considered the end of our main selling season. It seems that whoever I talk to has a different prospective on the market...some think we’re done for a long time...some think business is just fine...some think there is business out there and we just have to work a little harder. I tend to agree with the last group. Business is there - we just have to be a bit more creative and pro-active in getting it to come our way. Understanding our market and understanding our customers is key. Dr Morris suggested this morning that we use our knowledge of the islands as an incentive. Those of you that were born here will have stories of your growing up years here - share those stories. That is the history and culture of TCI. It is more than sun, sand and sea that people buy into. They buy into a way of life - and what better way of life than what we have right here in our own backyard.
