Peter Crawford Smith is a licensed real estate representative in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI).
Originally from Guelph, Ontario, Peter passed the Broker exams and worked as a top producer for many years in Toronto. In 2000, after their children had grown up, Peter and his wife moved to Turks and Caicos Islands, the beautiful Caribbean country where Peter has continued his career in real estate and now happily calls home.
In the move from Canada to Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, Peter experienced the challenges of acquiring work permits and residency requirements and all adjustments that are made during international location that anyone must confront when moving to these islands. He purchased a home, applied for and received a Permanent Residency Certificate with a Right to Work from the Turks and Caicos Government. He is now well qualified to help other expatriates to understand the process of living and working in Turks and Caicos Islands, and is pleased to help others find their very own place in the sun.
Over the past 10 years Peter has earned a reputation as condo specialist but he also enjoys working with investors looking for development land, luxury villas or freehold homes. Knowing the Islands a well as he does (Providenciales as well as the sister islands), he can help buyers to compare different options and islands depending on the client’s needs and interests. Being a long term member of the TCREA, the Turks and Caicos Real Estate Association, Peter this year was nominated and voted TCREA Ambassador. By this award he was recognized by his peers for his willingness to share information, for organizing the breakfast meetings, for bringing in speakers to motivate and educate the members of the Association and for his willingness to participate in other charity volunteer positions. Having received his degree in Social Work in Canada, he is happy to use his skills to give back to the community.
